Great start for Neighbours on Five
On Monday 12 February, Five aired for the first time an episode of the popular Australian daily soap Neighbours and was thoroughly convincing on keeping viewers tuned.

On yesterday evening 2.3 million viewers, an overall audience share of 14.2 per cent, tuned in to Neighbours on Five. The afternoon episode at 13.45 reached a 14.7 per cent audience share and 1 million viewers. With that, Neighbours was far above the channel’s average. Paul Leather, Head of Press at Five commented: "This is a fantastic result and beyond our predictions."

Neighbours tells the pulsating lives of the residents in the Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, a quiet and contemplative suburb. The first episode of this traditional series was first aired in 1985, making Neighbours the longest running series in Australia.

Neighbours airs Monday to Friday at 13.45 and 17.30 on Five.
