RTL Group’s annual report reaps further international awards
As the Olympics begin in Beijing, RTL Group can already boast a proud medal count of its own: platinum, gold and silver international awards went to Luxembourg for the 2007 annual report.

After giving RTL Group’s annual report a gold medal last year, the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) has now decided to award a platinum ‘Vision Award’ to this year’s report. The annual LACP Award is one of the foremost international contests for annual reports.

In the overall scoring, RTL Group’s Annual Report received 98 of 100 points, which moves it into the Top 25 of the world’s best annual reports (last year: No.32). In all, more than 3,000 annual reports were supported for review by professionals. In the media industry rankings for Europe and Asia, RTL Group came in first ahead of Bertelsmann AG (gold) and the Nippon Television Network Corporation (silver).

One direct competitor of the Vision Award is the ‘ARC Award’, another international award - here, as last year, the RTL Group report scored a gold medal in the ‘Interior Design: Media Company’ category, and won a silver medal in the overall rating of media companies (last year: Bronze).

Oliver Herrgesell, Executive Vice President Corporate Communications at RTL Group, comments: “RTL Group has a lot of good stories to tell; its annual report tells them in a comprehensible, credible, and clear way. It’s wonderful for the team to get top international recognition, and for the second year running, no less.”

The LACP judges–PR experts from leading American companies – gave the RTL Group’s Annual Report the highest possible score in six of the eight judging categories: the report’s narrative content, creativity and cover, its financials section, message clarity and information accessibility.

The annual report is a co-production between the departments at the Corporate Centre and the finance and communications departments at the Profit Centres. Ringzwei, an agency in Hamburg, was behind the report design. The project was supervised by the RTL Group Communications department.
